SEWING WORKSHOPS
These sewing workshops are a time where we aim to complete a project in one session. Catering for adults and children in various sessions, we love to learn new skills and techniques in these times together.
Sewing Workshop Overview
This is where we love to try different techniques, learn even more new skills, looking more broadly at the textile realm. We have arm knitted chunky blankets, learnt to screen print on fabric, had specialised training on using our overlockers, learnt to shirr & so much more.
Spaces go quickly so book in soon.

Frequently Asked Questions for Sewing Workshops for Adults & Kids
-
A sewing workshop is a short, creative session focused on making a specific project in a relaxed and supportive environment. Rather than following a long-term programme, workshops allow participants to enjoy hands-on sewing, complete an item, and experience the satisfaction of finishing something in one session.
-
Our workshops are suitable for beginners and those with some experience who want to enjoy structured sewing classes without committing to a full course. They are particularly popular with kids and teens who enjoy creative activities and want to try sewing in a friendly, encouraging setting. For kids who want a weekly class instead, check out our Monday After School Sewing Course.
-
No prior experience is required. Each sewing class is led with clear, step-by-step guidance, making it easy for complete beginners to follow along while still allowing more confident sewists to enjoy the project. Adults who would like a regular weekly class can also check our Monday Evening Sewing Course, which offers a structured setting to build skills over time.
-
During a workshop, participants learn to sew by completing a project from start to finish. Along the way, they develop practical skills such as using a sewing machine, understanding basic construction, and working with fabrics in a safe and supportive way. Adults who want to continue developing these skills in a weekly setting can also join our Tuesday Evening Sewing Course.
-
Workshops differ from longer sewing courses in that they are designed as standalone sessions. They focus on creativity and project completion rather than building skills week by week, making them ideal for those looking for flexibility or a taster experience. For adults who prefer a regular daytime class, the Wednesday Daytime Sewing Course offers a structured weekly option to build skills gradually.
-
Yes, workshops work very well as sewing lessons for beginners. They provide a gentle introduction to sewing without pressure, allowing participants to try something new, build confidence, and decide if they would like to continue learning through classes or courses. Adults who enjoy this approach can continue with a weekly evening option by joining our Wednesday Evening Sewing Course.
-
Yes, all materials, tools, and machines are included as part of the sewing lessons. Everything needed to complete the project is provided, so participants can simply arrive ready to sew and enjoy the experience. Children who want to build these skills in a weekly class can also join our Thursday After School Sewing Course.
-
Each workshop can be attended on its own, but many participants enjoy coming back regularly. Over time, workshops can feel like a relaxed sewing club, offering ongoing creative opportunities without the structure of a formal course.
-
Projects vary depending on the workshop but often include accessories, gifts, or small creative items. Each project is carefully chosen so participants can complete it within the session and leave with something finished and practical.
-
Yes, workshops are an excellent addition to regular sewing classes or sewing courses. They offer extra creative practice, the chance to explore new projects, and a flexible way to continue learning between longer programmes. For a more social and celebratory way to sew, our Sewing Parties & Occasions sessions provide fun, guided sewing experiences for birthdays and special events:
