Frequently Asked Questions for Special Sewing Parties & Occasions

Still have questions? Browse the FAQs or get in touch anytime. When you’re ready, enquire about your sewing party today now.

  • A sewing party is a private, social sewing workshop designed for you and your chosen group. It’s a relaxed way to celebrate an occasion while enjoying guided sewing lessons together. Each session is structured like a hands-on sewing class, where everyone creates a finished item to take home, making it both fun and rewarding. If you have children who want to attend a regular sewing class, you can also browse our after-school sewing sessions, including the Monday and Thursday After School classes, which are designed specifically for young learners.

  • No experience is required at all. Our sewing parties are suitable for complete beginners as well as those with sewing experience. If you’re new and want to learn to sew, we provide clear, step-by-step guidance throughout the session so you feel confident using the equipment and completing your project. For adults who’d prefer a regular weekly sewing class, our Monday evening sewing sessions are a great option for building skills at a relaxed pace.

  • What you learn depends on the project chosen, but beginner sessions cover essential sewing lessons such as threading a machine, basic stitches, fabric handling, and simple construction techniques. These sewing parties are designed so everyone learns new skills while enjoying a creative, stress-free experience. If you’d like to continue developing these skills in a regular setting, our Tuesday evening sewing classes are ideal for building confidence and progressing over time.

  • Yes, these sewing classes work perfectly as sewing lessons for beginners. We tailor the pace of the session to the group, ensuring first-time sewers feel supported while still allowing more confident participants to progress at a comfortable level. For those who prefer learning during the day, our Wednesday daytime sewing classes are a great option for building skills in a relaxed, supportive environment.

  • We offer a variety of creative sewing party options, including lace knicker making, apron and skirt making (with children’s options), patchwork quilts, arm knitting a blanket, and children’s sewing workshops. Each option is delivered as a complete sewing class within the 2-hour session. If you’d like to continue sewing beyond a one-off party, our Wednesday evening sewing classes are ideal for developing skills further in a regular, relaxed setting.

  • Our sewing parties are designed for groups of 5 to 15 people, making them ideal for birthdays, celebrations, team events or social get-togethers. They’re also a great option for friends or members of a sewing club who want to enjoy a shared creative experience. If you’re looking for smaller group sessions or one-off themed experiences, you can also browse our sewing workshops for additional creative options.

  • Sewing parties are usually held at Jubilee Community Centre in sewing East Grinstead, which is fully equipped for sewing workshops. We can also travel to a location of your choice, although additional setup and travel costs may apply.

  • Each sewing party lasts 2 hours, which allows enough time for learning new techniques, completing a project and enjoying the social side of the experience. This format works well as a one-off alternative to longer sewing courses

  • Sewing parties cost £42 per person, which includes all materials, equipment and tuition. This makes them an affordable and enjoyable way to experience professional sewing lessons without committing to a full course.

  • To book your sewing party, simply email us or complete the enquiry form. A 50% deposit is required to secure your date, with the remaining balance due two weeks before the party. Deposits are non-refundable, so we recommend enquiring early to secure availability.
