HI THERE, I’M ABI
Abi Currer runs Cotton Club, she is passionate about sewing and lives in East Grinstead; she worked for prestigious ballroom dance company Chrisanne Clover as a couture dressmaker and pattern cutter.
Over the years she has made dresses for popular TV shows such as Strictly Come Dancing and Dancing on Ice, along with costumes for international ballroom competitions and famous music artists. She loved the variety and challenges every day brought.
Abi has a First Class Honours degree in costume design and realisation, and has taught through Cotton Club for over 7 years. She has a current DBS check. Cotton Club has grown over the years and currently runs four classes; classes on Monday, Tuesday and a Wednesday morning adults class and a Thursday afternoon for Children. Cotton Club courses run from Jubilee Community Centre in East Grinstead.
What to expect
After booking onto a course, arrive promptly so we can set you up at your own desk in our bright and airy classroom. This calming space can be your slice of “me time” for the next 2 hours, free of interruptions. Abi will introduce you to the course content and set you up with everything you need including a machine, fabrics, plenty of space for cutting, ironing and spreading your project out.
Tea, coffee and biscuits are provided, and the classes are fun and social. For beginners there is one on one tuition and a printed guide so you can learn at your own speed. We have plenty of project ideas to choose from to enhance your skill level. We can store your project or take it home to work on.
After one course of Cotton Club you will have completed an item, and leave with the skills to move onto your own project or follow the next course theme.

Bookings must be paid for in full at the time of booking.
Please note that once payment has been received and cleared, then a reservation will be confirmed.
All fees are non-refundable, this includes gift vouchers. In the event that you are unable to attend. You may however be transferred onto another course (subject to availability).
Classes are limited to 10 students and at least 5 students are needed to make a class. In the event of under-subscription, classes may be cancelled or postponed. We will give as much notice as possible should this happen and you will be able to transfer to another course or received a full refund. We will not be held liable for any out-of-pocket expenses incurred as a result.
